The Company is engaged in the manufacturing of networking and internet working products .

The Company was incorporated on March 31, 1993, in Goa. It is a part of the multinational D-Link Corporation Group of Taiwan, which has a 34.51 per cent equity stake in the company .

The company is primarily into networking and internet working products. Networking products comprising ethernet cards, hubs, PCMCIA cards, print servers, etc constitute around 55 per cent of total sales. Internet working products comprising modems, internet servers, routers, etc constitutes around 28 per cent of sales. Structured cabling products and high end products together constitute the remaining. The high end products are traded items, which it procures from CISCO .

In software, D-Link is into the voice over internet protocol (VoIP) segment. It assembles products using hi-tech assembly lines but has a high import content of around 80 per cent of the total raw material consumption. Of this 60 per cent is procured through D-Link, Taiwan. Traded products are primarily of CISCO, Clarent and of D-Link Taiwan. It is acting as a distributor for CISCO products for high-end category.

D-Link has no presence in the high-end enterprise solutions. For that segment it has a strategic alliance with CISCO Systems. As a result it is able to offer products across all segments.


– The Company was incorporated on 31st March 1993, under the companies act, 1956 as Smart-Link Network Private Limited with original registered office at Goa for setting up a manufacturing unit, and renamed as D-Link (India) Private Limited on 29th March 1995 and became deemed Public Limited Company as D-Link (India) Ltd. with effect from 1st July 1998.

LIMITED’ from ‘D-LINK (INDIA) LIMITED’ consequent to fresh Certificate of Incorporation issued by the Registrar of Companies, Goa. The above change of name is the part of the implementation of the Scheme of Arrangement which has become effective on June 10, 2009.
