Description and history
CWT DISTRIBUTION LIMITED (CWT) was incorporated in Singapore on 25 June 1970 to provide a strategic service – to support the development of the nation’s containerisation thrust as it strives towards becoming a world-class port. Their mission is to build up Singapore’s expertise and infrastructure for land-based container operations, and to lay the ground for PSA’s mega-container terminal operations.

With a modest capital of $1 million and a staff strength of less than 10, they began as one of Singapore’s first container depot operators and trucking companies – providing basic warehousing and transportation facilities for the trading and manufacturing sectors.

It was the first logistics company to be listed on the main board of the Singapore Exchange in 1993. CWT’s major shareholders are PSA Corporation and Jurong Port.

Since then, they have progressed steadily. Today, the CWT Group has numerous subsidiaries and associated companies, and a strong global agency network to meet its customers’ distribution needs. Coupled with strategic link-ups and networking with port authorities, shipping lines and sea freight companies worldwide, CWT provides a comprehensive logistics service.

With strong financials and a staff of experienced and dedicated logistics professionals, CWT is well-positioned to take advantage of Singapore’s development as a global logistics hub and to achieve their vision of becoming a leading total logistics service provider in the region.
